Little Acorns Godstone is a family run registered childcare provision, with children, play and exploration at the centre of all we do. Our Forest School provision provides woodland activities on site and on a large scale, where children can explore learning about and in the outdoors. These wonderful wilderness experiences are nurtured in our setting through imaginative play and exciting creative opportunities. We are childminders with a difference!
The wilderness is within their grasp through the woodlands at the bottom of the garden!

What we do

Picture
At Little Acorns children have time and space to explore. Our sink ponds are teeming with life and the children can watch snails, water boatmen, tadpoles and frogs. It's also a calm place for thirsty birds!
Picture
Nurturing childhood curiosity is very important to us and our setting with trees, ponds, woodland, grass and garden provides so many opportunities for children to immerse themselves in the natural world and develop their own ideas.

We encourage children to slow down and look closer at their world, ask questions and find out for themselves throughout the year, in different weathers and seasons.

At Little Acorns we give children time to look, find out, explore and make their own choices. Experimenting with different ways of mark making, indoors and outside, the children have access to paints, pastels, chalk, easels, dough, recycled materials and all kinds of construction.

Our woodlands provides a wealth of natural materials, leaves, seeds, plants, flowers, trees, branches  and logs. This can inspire drawing, thinking, wondering, painting, tinkering, feeling, looking, observing, building, hiding, resting, climbing  and imagining...

There are many opportunities to count, sort, compare and organise. Natural objects like acorns, pine cones and leaves provide little hands with the apparatus they need to be mathematicians!
